The Bronx is one of five boroughs of

New York City in the

United States, designated as

“All American City”.

It is a potpourri of cultures and ethnic groups, each with their eateries and places of worship.

Over the years, the Bronx witnessed a significant influx of Muslim immigrants largely from West African countries creating a need to either expand existing masajids or to open new masajids to accommodate new Muslim immigrants. Also after the September 11th 2001 attack, there has been a renewed interest in understanding Islam which culminated into new Muslim converts. Hence a need to create a center that will provide on going Islamic education for them.

The Bronx Islamic cultural center provides an environment that supports Islamic events and activities that provide on-going Islamic education. Activities include Islamic conferences, symposia workshops, Eid celebration, marriage, naming ceremony and classes that welcome and educate new shahadas

The presence of the center has promoted a positive distinction for the Bronx community in specific, as well as a worthy prototype for communities in general. The center does the following:

  •  It is available for Hispanic, African American, African, Arab American and other ethnic Muslims within the community.
  • Encourages inter-ethnic and cultural communications.
  • Establish inter-faith gathering and contribute to other faiths’ events with neighborly protocol and love.
  • Provides a day-care center for children to learn the basics of Islamic teachings.

  •
